Bang Ban District is now flooded in 14 subdistricts, with a total of 3,221 households affected. An Ayutthaya MP from the Bhumjaithai Party said the impact is still less severe than in 2015, denied the foam distribution controversy, affirmed sincere assistance to residents, and urged to stop political smear games.
On 25 September 2026, reporters reported that floodwaters in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province continue to rise. At Village 4, Bang Chani Subdistrict, Bang Ban District, water from the Chao Phraya River combined with accumulated heavy rainfall has eroded the access road to Community Alley 10 until it broke, causing about 50 households to suffer difficulties as vehicles cannot travel in and out normally.
Reporters visiting the area found that the broken road is a main route for residents. The current has continuously eroded the road since last night. Although the municipality placed sandbags to slow the water, they could not withstand the strong flow, resulting in the road being cut off.
Mr. Niwat Utthasapradit, a local resident, said the water level is rising continuously, partly due to heavy rain in many areas combined with a large volume of water locally, causing strong currents that eroded the road until it broke.
Previously, there was a drainage pipe in the area, but it is now damaged. The Bang Ban Subdistrict Municipality had planned to renovate the area, but the flood situation occurred first, preventing any work from proceeding.
Mr. Niwat added that after the road was cut off, residents suffered greatly as vehicles could no longer enter the community, and boats could not be used either because the water level is not yet high enough. To go out for shopping or errands, people must wade through water and take a detour.
Currently, most residents park their cars outside the community and then walk or wade through water back home. The water level in the community is about ankle-high, and several houses have already been flooded.
Initially, the municipality, local authorities, and area MPs brought beams to place across the broken road to create a temporary crossing so residents can walk back and forth while awaiting systematic repairs.
Ayutthaya MP Beer strongly denied the foam distribution controversy, affirmed sincere help to residents, and called to stop political smear games.
Mr. Songpol Suksomboon, known as “MP Beer,” representing Ayutthaya Constituency 1 from the Bhumjaithai Party, explained the flood situation in Bang Ban District, saying the current flood level is still lower than in 2025. However, residents are worried about the rapid water releases and short hourly warnings that make it difficult to prepare. He said he is coordinating with the government for long-term solutions and continuously working on immediate relief efforts.
Regarding the social media controversy about distributing foam sheets to flood victims, MP Beer explained that the event happened while he was returning from a parliamentary meeting to inspect Kraduang Canal following residents' complaints. He coincidentally met a Provincial Administrative Organization councilor distributing foam provided by the PAO, so he stopped to visit and talk, and his team took photos posted on his page clearly stating the foam was from the PAO and councilor, not claiming it as his own work.
“Residents requested foam because they feared flooding like in 2025. The foam sheets are not for floating but for supporting trees, belongings, and agricultural tools. When I was a PAO councilor, I also distributed foam. It is normal for local authorities to assist residents. I only stopped to take photos—what’s wrong with that?” MP Beer said.
MP Beer also lamented political opponents, urging them not to exploit the residents' hardship for dirty political games or to spread slander. He said this moment requires cooperation to help those suffering. He has worked in Ayutthaya assisting residents for over 20 years, and locals know his work. He asked those who lost elections or are not representatives to stop criticizing and let elected officials fully serve the people.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Office of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province posted that Bang Ban District is flooded in 14 subdistricts and 74 villages, affecting a total of 3,221 households.
On 25 September 2026, the Chao Phraya Dam released water downstream at 1,750 cubic meters per second, unchanged from yesterday but with an upward trend. This caused the water level in Phong Pheng Canal to rise by 26 cm, expected to increase another 15–20 cm, and the water level in Bang Ban Canal to rise by 19 cm, expected to increase another 10–15 cm.

These include: Tang Chang Subdistrict (Villages 1–6, 200 households), Wat Taku Subdistrict (Villages 1–9, 399 households), Bang Chani Subdistrict (Villages 1–5, 317 households), Ban Kum Subdistrict (Villages 1–9, 728 households), Bang Hak Subdistrict (Villages 1–8, 298 households), Bang Luang Dod Subdistrict (Villages 1–4, 143 households), Ban Khlang Subdistrict (Villages 1–7, 264 households), Kob Chao Subdistrict (Villages 3, 7–9, 107 households), Nam Tao Subdistrict (Villages 1–8, 414 households), Bang Luang Subdistrict (Villages 1–5, 218 households), Wat Yom Subdistrict (Village 4, 3 households), Sai Noi Subdistrict (Village 1, 79 households), Phra Khao Subdistrict (Villages 1–3, 6–7, 37 households), and Saphan Thai Subdistrict (Villages 1 and 3, 14 households).
Agricultural areas in Bang Ban District were affected in 8 subdistricts, with a total of 141.50 rai impacted, involving 127 farmers. This includes 21.5 rai of rice, 27.5 rai of vegetables, and 92.5 rai of fruit trees, perennial plants, and others.
Six government offices were affected: Wat Taku Health Promoting Hospital, Bang Luang Dod Health Promoting Hospital, Wat Taku School, Wat Intaram School, Prachakorn Rangsarit School (old building), and Wat Ko Phai School. Two religious sites were affected: Wat Taku and Wat Ko Phai.
Overall, from 22 to 25 September 2026, Bang Ban District has been affected by overflowing riverbanks in 14 subdistricts and 74 villages, impacting 3,221 households, 141.50 rai of agricultural land, six government offices, and two religious sites.
