From 26 to 27 September 2026, the North, Northeast, Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East, and the South will experience heavy rain in many areas and very heavy rain in some locations.
This is due to a strong low-pressure system covering the lower Central region and Bangkok including its vicinity moving along the monsoon trough across Central Thailand, combined with an intensifying southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Residents in Thailand should be cautious of dangers from heavy to very heavy rain and continuous rainfall that may cause flash floods and mountain stream flash floods, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying zones. Avoid traveling on routes prone to recurrent flooding, particularly in low-lying areas where short-term flooding may occur.
Waves and winds in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are intensifying. The upper Gulf of Thailand and upper Andaman Sea have wave heights of 2-3 meters, with waves exceeding 3 meters in thunderstorm areas. The lower Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea have waves around 2 meters, exceeding 2 meters during thunderstorms. Boaters in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in thunderstorm areas. Small boats in the upper Gulf of Thailand and upper Andaman Sea should refrain from going out to sea until 27 September 2026.
