Floodwaters in the village rose over 1.20 meters. The homeowner hired a crane to lift his car. While lifting, the crane's tip accidentally touched a power line. The crane operator was electrocuted and fell into the water. The car owner went to help and was also electrocuted. Both died.
At 01:20 on 27 Sep 2026, Police Lieutenant Sarun Ma Saeng, Deputy Investigation Officer of Bang Kaeo Police Station, received a report of electrocution with two casualties—one dead and one injured—at a village in Bang Phli Yai Subdistrict, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province. He, along with a duty doctor from Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital and the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, promptly went to the scene.
At the scene inside the village, floodwaters were over 1.20 meters deep. Officials had to use a high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach house number 55/10. They found Mr. Thanakrit, 40, the homeowner who had been electrocuted. Neighbors had helped pull him from the water, and he was found dead in front of the house.
They also found Mr. Sitthipob, 31, the driver of a white six-wheel Hino crane truck used to lift the car. He had been electrocuted and was critically injured. Officials performed CPR and transported him to Chularat 9 Hospital, where he later died.
Mrs. Nothaphon, 42, wife of Mr. Thanakrit, said her husband hired the crane to lift their car, which was submerged in front of their house, to higher ground. While lifting, the crane's boom touched the power line in front of their home, causing an electrical short that electrocuted the crane operator, who fell into the water. Her husband, standing nearby, tried to help but was also electrocuted and drowned. She called the power company to cut the electricity but was unable to save her husband. The crane operator was critically injured, lost consciousness, and later died.
Police Lieutenant Sarun Ma Saeng, Deputy Investigation Officer of Bang Kaeo Police Station, after inspecting the scene, summoned witnesses for questioning at Bang Kaeo Police Station. The bodies of the deceased were sent for autopsy at Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital in accordance with legal procedures.
