On 27 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reports indicated that in Bang Kapi district, specifically in front of The Mall and at Happy Land intersection, many cars were stranded on roads and bridges since the day before. This is because the area below was flooded with water reaching waist height, accompanied by light rain. On the lower roads, many cars and buses were submerged. Some residents began searching for food to stock up for their families amid the flooding.
Mr. Mongkol Phosoi, 40, a flood victim, said that last Friday he was preparing to move items in his Isan food shop to higher ground. While he was moving things, it was raining and water levels were rising moderately but not severely. He thought it was just normal rain as before and continued packing. After about an hour, the rain did not stop and water levels unexpectedly rose further. Traffic on the roads became congested and vehicles stalled. He and his family quickly packed essential items like clothes and valuables into bags and moved up to the Bang Kapi skywalk opposite his shop, which he considered the safest place.
He has since been living on the skywalk walkway with three others. They can still go down occasionally to find food. Last night, he decided to stay there with his family. He estimates that the two motorcycles in his shop are likely submerged by now and expects to remain on the skywalk for another two to three days.
He expressed considerable worry, fearing water levels might rise further. If the rain does not continue, it would be fortunate for locals. All they can do now is hope that no more rain falls.
Meanwhile, Mr. Natthapong Khanak, 29, and Ms. Petchpailin Limwattanaruk, 25, a married couple carrying their child, left Khlong Chan flats to stay with relatives near Ramintra. They told reporters they had to quickly gather essential belongings and their child's items as water levels were rising. Last night was very difficult due to no electricity and no access to food, with no deliveries available. They had to endure hunger, and they felt sorry for their child, using a fan and notebook to keep the child cool without electricity.
They said they no longer wanted to risk staying in the area and needed to leave. However, some residents remain in Khlong Chan flats, including bedridden patients and many elderly people with nowhere else to go. Some are also reluctant to leave their belongings. They urged authorities to promptly assist those still in Khlong Chan flats or to help relocate them to safer areas.
