In Chainat, floodwaters from Uthai Thani province have surged into residential areas, causing distress in more than seven subdistricts of Han Kha district. It is expected that if rain continues for the next one to two days, the flooding will surely expand.
On the afternoon of 27 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that heavy rains in Chainat province caused floodwaters from Uthai Thani to overflow into homes and agricultural lands in Han Kha district, Chainat, affecting more than seven subdistricts.
In Ban Bo Phra village, Prai Nok Yoong subdistrict, Han Kha district, Chainat, floodwaters flowing from Nong Mamong and Wat Sing districts have inundated residential areas. Some roads are under deep water with strong currents, making travel difficult for small vehicles. Local administrative organizations have rushed to assist residents.
Adisorn Kerdto, the district chief of Han Kha, stated that the main affected areas are Prai Nok Yoong, Nong Saeng, Den Yai, Huai Ngoo, Sam Ngam Tha Bot, Han Kha, and Ban Chian subdistricts. Most flooding originated from Wang Man subdistrict in Wat Sing district and Khao Raow Thian Thong. This year’s floodwaters have been heavier than those of the past two to three years.
Regarding Huai Nong Rong reservoir, water is currently being continuously released as announced. The water flows to Ban Chian subdistrict in Han Kha before draining into the Tha Chin River. The district has informed residents in flood-prone and low-lying areas to move belongings to higher ground. It is expected that if rainfall continues over the next one to two days, floodwaters will spread further. Previously, floods typically receded within one to two days, but this time, the water continues to rise and may increase. Authorities are planning to minimize hardship for the affected population.
Preliminary surveys show that about 200 households in Han Kha district have been affected by this flood. The district has brought drinking water, rice, and dried food to assist those whose homes have been flooded.
