Radar Watch: Light Rain in Some Areas of Bangkok, 70% Chance of Thunderstorms

Radar monitoring of Bangkok and the metropolitan area shows light rain in some locations today, with a 70% chance of thunderstorms across the area. Temperatures will range from a high of 29-31°C to a low of 23-24°C.

On 28 September 2026, it was reported thatthe Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Flood Prevention Centerreleased weather radar data as of 08:00, indicating light rain in Nong Khaem, Bang Bon, and Bang Khun Thian districts, with light to moderate rain in Bang Na, Khlong Toei, and Prawet districts. The rain is moving northeast, with the highest rainfall of 6.5 mm recorded in Prawet district.

At 07:30, it was reported that light rain was occurring in Chom Thong, Thung Khru, Bang Bon, and Bang Khun Thian districts of Bangkok, continuing into Samut Sakhon province and the Gulf of Thailand, moving northeast.

As of 07:00, no rain clusters were found in Bangkok; light rain was observed in Samut Sakhon province and the Gulf of Thailand, moving northeast and expected to move into Bang Bon and Bang Khun Thian districts.

• Bangkok and its vicinity: thunderstorms expected over 70% of the area, with some heavy rainfall in certain locations.
• Maximum temperature 29-31°C / minimum 23-24°C.
• In the past 24 hours (as of 07:00), moderate to heavy rain occurred in Bangkok, with the highest total rainfall measured at 63.0 mm at the Khlong Saen Saep floodgate in Nong Chok district.

The 24-hour forecast indicates that heavy to very heavy rain will continue in some areas of the western and lower northern regions, the western central region, and the eastern region. Other areas will see reduced rainfall but still may experience some heavy rain.
