Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Defense Minister, conducted a field visit to military housing and the Veterans Assistance Organization to monitor flood response efforts, emphasizing care for personnel alongside missions to assist the public, while deploying soldiers to support Suvarnabhumi Airport 24 hours a day.
28 Sep 2026 GMT+7 — Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defense, visited and monitored flood conditions at military housing under the Ministry of Defense, including the Minister’s Office residences in Lat Pla Khao district and Veterans Assistance Organization housing on Ram Inthra Road, to assess flood impact and oversee care for personnel, officials, and families residing in these areas.
The inspection found that although the housing areas were affected by flooding, personnel and their families collaboratively managed and maintained their community, including flood monitoring, caring for common areas, and mutual assistance, enabling the community to live and respond to the situation systematically.
Meanwhile, military personnel continued their missions to support and assist local residents within their responsibility zones without reducing aid efforts, even though some personnel’s families and residences were also affected by the flooding.
The Defense Minister encouraged officials, personnel, and their families, instructing commanders to properly address their welfare, safety, and urgent needs so that those on duty can fully focus on assisting the public. He emphasized that caring for personnel and their families must proceed alongside support for citizens in all affected areas.
Additionally, following a request from Suvarnabhumi Airport for military support to help manage and facilitate tourists and travelers during the flood situation, the Defense Minister instructed assigned troops to perform their duties fully, coordinating closely with relevant agencies to ensure smooth and safe travel and public services.
The Defense Minister stressed that amid widespread public impact, the Ministry of Defense and the military will fully utilize available resources—including personnel, vehicles, equipment, and supplies—to support the government and all agencies, allocating forces appropriately to each area’s needs, maintaining continuous assistance missions around the clock.
“Many of our personnel and their families have also been affected by the floods like the public, yet everyone continues to perform their duties helping local people. I have instructed commanders to take the best possible care of our people and their families. At the same time, the missions to assist those in need must proceed without pause. Every unit must be fully ready to support because in situations like this, all parties must work together.”
