Nakhon Nayok's Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam has reduced water release to gradually lessen the impact on downstream areas and announced a temporary closure for visits and activities starting from 28 Sep 2026.
On 28 Sep 2026 in Nakhon Nayok province, reporters reported that Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam has continuously decreased its water discharge. Most recently, at 09:00 on 28 Sep 2026, the discharge level was reduced from 50 centimeters to 25 centimeters. This adjustment helps lessen the impact on downstream areas. As a result, traffic on National Highway 3049—from the dam toward the city of Nakhon Nayok—has returned to normal, with both large and small vehicles able to pass. However, roadside areas still show damage from the previous high water levels that flooded homes along the route.
At Wat Luang Pho Pak Daeng, some water remains pooled in certain spots. The water level at Rong Kluea Market near the temple has receded, but all market shops suffered damage. Shop owners are currently working quickly to clean up and resume business.
In areas where water levels remain high and large vehicles cannot enter, local rescue teams continue providing aid throughout the day. Additionally, the Good Deeds Foundation, led by Boom Panadda Wongpudi, distributed 2,000 boxed meals to assist residents affected in Nakhon Nayok province.
Meanwhile, Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam has announced that it will temporarily close access for visitors and activities within the dam area starting from 28 Sep 2026.
