At 13:00 on 28 September 2026, Sub-Lieutenant Witthawat On-Eng, deputy investigation officer of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station, received a report of a deceased man found floating trapped under a pier of a riverside restaurant near Wat Suwannaram Ratchaworawihan Pier, Ho Rat Nakhon Chai Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. He proceeded to the scene with members of the Puttayisawan Foundation for investigation.
At the scene on the Pa Sak River, a male body estimated to be about 50 years old was found lying face down, trapped under the pier. He was wearing a brown crew-neck shirt with a cartoon van and mountain printed on the back, and three-quarter jeans. The body showed early signs of decomposition, with death estimated at 2–3 days prior.
Foundation personnel used a motorboat to retrieve the body from the water at Wat Suwannaram Ratchaworawihan Pier. A preliminary examination found no wounds indicating physical assault.
An employee at the restaurant reported that earlier in the morning, while standing near the pier’s flag area by the river, they noticed a body resembling the deceased floating and trapped against the pier. They immediately called authorities to investigate.
Mr. Weerayut Yasai, Deputy District Chief of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, stated that after receiving the report, officials went to the scene and found the deceased man, approximately 50 years old, wearing the described clothing. Initial checks in the vicinity found no reports of missing persons matching the description.
Investigators documented and photographed the scene for evidence and coordinated with nearby police stations to check for any missing persons reports. Meanwhile, the Puttayisawan Foundation transported the body to the Institute of Forensic Science in Pathum Thani Province for a detailed autopsy and will continue efforts to locate the deceased’s relatives.
Currently, there is no confirmed information linking the death to the flooding situation. The cause of death will be determined after autopsy and further official investigation.
This is the first case of a body found floating in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District during a period when flood levels in the province are being closely monitored.
