In Pathum Thani, a 54-year-old woman died from an electric shock at a bus stop beside the National Memorial on the Vibhavadi Rangsit Road side in Khu Khot Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province.
On 28 September 2026, a tragic incident occurred at a bus stop beside the National Memorial on the Vibhavadi Rangsit Road side in Khu Khot Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province, resulting in one fatality due to electric shock.
The Khu Khot Municipality Rescue Center received the emergency call and dispatched personnel along with volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation to the scene.
At the scene, rescuers found one unconscious woman wearing a black short-sleeve T-shirt and black shorts. Emergency workers and volunteers promptly performed CPR on-site before urgently transporting her to Rangsit Medical Hospital. However, the patient later died. The deceased was identified as Miss Tipwan Wongwiwat, 54, residing at 37/73, Lat Sawai Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province.
According to Mr. Amorn Pinthupan, a rescue worker from Khu Khot Municipality, upon arriving at the scene, they found that military personnel from the National Memorial had already cut off the electricity. The soldiers who witnessed the event reported that the victim had sat down to rest at the bus stop before being electrocuted. They quickly cut the power and called the rescue center for assistance.
Later, Investigator Sub-Lieutenant Chatchawan Prakobkit of Khu Khot Police Station arrived to investigate and documented the scene with photographs. The body was then handed over to the Poh Teck Tung Foundation to be transported to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital for a thorough autopsy to determine the exact cause of death before coordinating with relatives for funeral rites.
Observations and precautions: Electric shock incidents at public areas or bus stops often result from various factors such as electrical leakage from advertising signs, damaged wiring, or wet conditions during rain. Relevant authorities should promptly inspect electrical systems in vulnerable spots to ensure public safety.
