The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has issued a flood warning for Mueang Phetchabun and Nong Phai districts in Phetchabun Province. Residents living near the downstream areas of reservoirs and nearby locations are advised to move their belongings to higher ground and relocate their vehicles.
On 28 September 2026, according to a report from the Phetchabun Irrigation Office on the status of water volume in all 11 reservoirs as of 29 September 2026, six reservoirs have water levels exceeding 90 percent capacity. These include Huai Nam Ko Reservoir, Pa Daeng Reservoir, Khlong Chaliang Lap Reservoir, Huai Yai Reservoir, Huai Na Reservoir, and Khlong Lam Kong Reservoir.
In particular, the Khlong Lam Kong Reservoir in Nong Phai District has reached 100.84 percent capacity, causing water to overflow the spillway, with continuous water discharge through the outlet channel. Additionally, the Pa Daeng Reservoir in Mueang Phetchabun District is at 99.73 percent capacity, with water beginning to overflow the bell-mouth spillway and discharging into the irrigation canal. However, no impact on residential areas has been reported. Other reservoirs exceeding 90 percent include Huai Nam Ko (98.41%), Chaliang Lap (95.52%), Huai Yai (99.39%), Huai Na (91.63%), and Huai Khon Kaen (91.27%).
Four other reservoirs have water levels below 90 percent: Huai Leng Reservoir at 87.82%, Huai Pa Lao Reservoir at 73.70%, Huai Nam Chun Yai Reservoir at 61.33%, and Huai Tha Phon Reservoir at only 40.37%. However, ongoing rainfall in several areas is expected to increase water levels in multiple reservoirs further.
Most recently, at 17:57 today, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation issued a flood warning via Cell Broadcast for residents downstream of reservoirs, especially in Pa Lao, Sadiang, and Nai Mueang subdistricts in Mueang Phetchabun District, as well as Wang Tha Dee and Tha Daeng subdistricts in Nong Phai District and nearby areas. Residents are urged to move their belongings to higher places, relocate vehicles, and assist vulnerable groups as needed.
