The National Water Resources Office has announced a high tide watch from 29 September to 4 October 2026, warning at-risk provinces to prepare for impacts in communities outside the water barrier lines without permanent flood defenses, as well as along key travel routes including Sukhumvit Road, Suksawat Road, and Rama 2 Road.
On 29 September 2026, the Facebook page of the National Water Resources Office posted a high tide watch announcement for 29 September to 4 October 2026, stating that the influence of a fairly strong southwest monsoon continues to cover the Andaman Sea, the southern region, and the Gulf of Thailand, causing stronger waves and winds. This is compounded by floodwaters flowing down from the upper river basins.
This has caused river water levels to rise and may lead to flooding in certain areas. Specifically, along the banks of the Bang Pakong River, Chao Phraya River, Tha Chin River, and Mae Klong River from 29 September to 4 October 2026, including communities outside water barrier lines without permanent flood defenses and along major travel routes such as Sukhumvit Road, Suksawat Road, and Rama 2 Road.
Therefore, relevant agencies are urged to monitor high tides closely in the provinces of Chachoengsao, Samut Prakan, Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, and Samut Songkhram.
