Regarding the general weather forecast from 30 September to 6 October 2023, the Meteorological Department websiteissued an announcement at 12:00 stating that from 30 September to 3 October 2023, the South will experience heavy rain in some areas, while upper Thailand will have scattered thunderstorms. This is due to a weak southwest monsoon covering the North, Central, and South regions, while a southeast wind covers the Northeast and East regions.From 4 to 6 October 2023, upper Thailand will experience thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and heavy rain in some areas, starting in the North and Northeast, then affecting the Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East region afterward. The South will continue to have persistent rain with heavy showers in some places.
This is because a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China will extend over the North and upper Northeast, while a weak southwest monsoon will cover the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand during 30 September to 6 October 2023. Sea waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand will be mild to moderate, with wave heights of 1-2 meters in the upper Andaman Sea, around 1 meter in the lower Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand, and waves exceeding 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms.
