Erawan National Park has revealed the long-awaited image of the 'Erawan Elephant Head' after the water flow filled fully, creating a beautiful scene and showing the origin of the park's name.
On 30 Sep 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that the fan pageErawan National Parkposted clips and photos of 'Erawan Waterfall' from 29 Sep, stating the origin of the park's name and the awaited moment with the Erawan Elephant Head.
This led to many comments praising the beauty, such as, 'Looks like a three-headed elephant, very beautiful,' 'Just understood today, very beautiful,' and 'When I walked to the 7th tier of the waterfall, I saw a small elephant head, but now it truly lives up to the name, very beautiful.'
Originally named 'Sadong Mong Lai Waterfall' after the Mong Lai stream headwaters flowing over cliffs and rock layers, Erawan Waterfall consists of seven tiers: 1. Lai Kuen Rang, 2. Wang Matcha, 3. Pha Nam Tok, 4. Ok Nang Phi Suea, 5. Buea Mai Long, 6. Dong Phreuksa, and 7. Phu Pha Erawan, the highest tier. Water flows over limestone rocks, and when flooding occurs, it resembles the three-headed Erawan elephant's head, with small pools for visitors to relax.
However, currently,Erawan National Parkremains temporarily closed until conditions are safe again due to heavy rain and flash floods that have caused the waterfall's water to become murky and the currents to be dangerously strong, making it unsafe for visitors.
