Khlong Saen Saeb passenger boats have deployed 34 vessels to help push floodwaters in Bangkok, acknowledging they have never experienced water levels this high before, making this the heaviest flood to date.
On 30 September 2026, Visan Papngam, 33, chief inspector of the transport family, revealed that they positioned over 34 transport boats facing upstream to create water currents that push water along Khlong Saen Saeb. These boats were tied to pillars along the canal, stretching from the Bang Kapi district office area to the Rama 9 Khlong Tan water drainage tunnel.
They have been assisting in pushing water since the first day of high flooding and added more boats after the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration requested support. They have boats on standby, ready to deploy further if needed, which has significantly helped push back the water.
Drawing from years of experience growing alongside Khlong Saen Saeb, he confirmed that despite heavy rainfall in the past, water levels had never risen as high as now. Even during the 2011 flood, the water did not overflow the banks like this time. This flood is the most severe.
He hopes for additional rainfall and believes that the volume of standing floodwater will decrease, noting that today the water level in Khlong Saen Saeb has already fallen by more than 20-30 centimeters.
