Heavy rain startled Bangkok residents as hail fell in several areas including Ratchada, Suea Yai, and Chokchai 4. Many said it was their first time seeing hail, while #Hail trended on social media.
On 1 Oct 2026, reporters reported that after heavy rain hit many parts of Bangkok, hail was observed in the Ratchada, Suea Yai, and Chokchai 4 areas. Many people said it was their first time experiencing hail.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department reported that at 14:40, Suvarnabhumi radar detected rain clusters over Nakhon Nayok, southern Bangkok, and Samut Sakhon with some heavy rain spots. The rain clusters were moving southwest. Those planning to travel in the afternoon and evening were advised to carry umbrellas.
Additionally, the hashtag#Hailremained trending on social media, with many who experienced the hail sharing numerous photos and videos.
