Disaster Prevention Department Warns of Rising Water Levels, Multiple Breaches in Flood Embankments in Mueang Nakhon Sawan District

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) issued a Cell Broadcast warning about rising water levels in Ban Kaeng, Wat Sai, Nakhon Sawan Tok, and Takien Luean subdistricts of Mueang Nakhon Sawan District, Nakhon Sawan Province. This is due to increasing water levels from Tha Khanom Jeen Canal and other canals, which may overflow their banks. Residents are advised to move belongings to higher ground.

On 2 October 2026, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) warned that water levels from Tha Khanom Jeen Canal and other canals in Ban Kaeng Subdistrict are rising and may overflow their banks. The affected areas include villages 1, 2, 3, 7, and 11 in Wat Sai Subdistrict; villages 7, 8, 9, and 10 in Nakhon Sawan Tok Subdistrict; and Takien Luean Subdistrict in Mueang Nakhon Sawan District, as well as nearby areas. Residents are urged to move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles, and assist vulnerable groups. Those needing help should contact local administrative organizations, village heads, or community leaders.

Accordingly, the DDPM coordinated with mobile network providers AIS, True, and NT to send Cell Broadcast messages warning of rising water levels in Ban Kaeng, Wat Sai, Nakhon Sawan Tok, and Takien Luean subdistricts of Mueang Nakhon Sawan District, Nakhon Sawan Province.

People can report incidents and request assistance via the LINE account “DDPM Incident Reporting 1784” by adding Line ID @1784DDPM, or by calling the DDPM emergency hotline 1784, which operates 24 hours a day.

Meanwhile, at 06:00 on 2 October 2026 in Nakhon Sawan Province, flood embankments in Village 1, Wat Sai Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Sawan District, failed to contain the water volume. Several breaches occurred, causing water to flow rapidly into downstream areas and spread widely into low-lying zones. In some locations, water levels exceeded one meter.

As a result, residents in the area have been affected by floodwaters entering homes and surrounding land. Water levels are expected to continue spreading. However, the water is still flowing into canals and floodplain areas, so the situation is not yet critical and is being closely monitored.

Mr. Krisana Wisutsesat, Chief Executive of Wat Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, along with local officials and related agencies, surveyed the situation, assessed the impact, and sought ways to assist residents. They are continuously monitoring water flow directions and levels to prepare for swift response and aid.
