"Meteorological Department" issued the 7th alert warning that on 5 October 2026 many areas will still have "heavy rain" Check the provinces that will be affected
On 4 October 2026, the Meteorological Department announced "unstable weather conditions over upper Thailand" (effective from 4 to 7 October 2026) in its 7th bulletin, stating that during 4-7 October 2026, upper Thailand will experience unstable weather, characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, and heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas, affecting various regions at different times as follows.
This is due to the late rainy season high-pressure system or cold air mass from China spreading over the north and upper northeast, causing initial thunderstorms, while the southwest monsoon continues to prevail over the Andaman Sea, southern region, and Gulf of Thailand.
The public is advised to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms, strong winds, heavy and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and landslides, especially in hillside areas near waterways and low-lying areas prone to flooding. People should avoid open spaces, standing under large trees, and unstable billboards.
Waves and winds over the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, with waves exceeding 2 meters in thunderstorm areas. Mariners in these seas should check their routes and navigate with caution, avoiding areas of thunderstorms.
Furthermore, from 9 to 13 October 2026, the eastern, central, Bangkok metropolitan, and southern regions are expected to see increased rainfall with heavy to very heavy rain in some places. The public should closely monitor weather forecasts during this period.
For safety and to reduce potential impacts, the public is urged to carefully plan their activities and travel during this time and to follow announcements from the Meteorological Department. Updates are available on the Meteorological Department website at http://www.tmd.go.th or via phone at 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, 24 hours a day.
