DDPM Warns Rain Will Continue 5–7 Oct, Prepare for Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain in Many Areas

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) warns that rain will continue to be heavy during 5–7 October 2026 and to prepare accordingly. "Thunderstorms and heavy rain in many areas."


On 5 October 2026, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) monitored the operational meeting of the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command (NDPMC) held today.

Rainfall

  • From 5 to 7 October 2026, prepare for thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and heavy rain in some locations.
  • On 5–6 October 2026, heavy rain is expected in the northern, central, Bangkok metropolitan, eastern, and upper southern regions.
  • On 7 October 2026, heavy rain will focus on the western parts of the northern and central regions.

Water flow – river water

  • The Chao Phraya Dam continues to discharge water at 2,500 cubic meters per second. Provinces including Chainat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, and Bangkok must remain on alert.

Reservoir water

  • Large and medium-sized reservoirs nationwide currently hold over 82% of their total capacity.

High tides

  • From 5 to 10 October 2026, high tides will occur each afternoon. Water discharge schedules will be adjusted to align with tidal changes.

The outlook indicates thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and heavy rain, especially in the northern, central, Bangkok metropolitan, eastern, and upper southern regions. Provinces in these areas should remain vigilant and prepare accordingly. If affected by disasters, residents can call the 24-hour emergency hotline at 1784.
