"Meteorological Department" , issued the second announcement warning of "heavy to very heavy rain" during 9-13 October 2026. Check which provinces will be affected.
At 17:00 on 7 October 2026,the Meteorological Departmentissued a statement regarding "heavy to very heavy rain over Thailand" (effective from 9 to 13 October 2026) in its second announcement, stating that during this period, Thailand will experience unstable weather characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, hail, and heavy to very heavy rain in some areas, affecting various regions at different times as follows:
This is because at the end of the rainy season, a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China spreads to cover upper Thailand, combined with a monsoon trough passing through the upper southern region, while the southwest monsoon continues to blow over the Andaman Sea, South, and Gulf of Thailand.
The public is advised to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, heavy to very heavy rain, and accumulated rainfall, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff, especially in foothill areas near water channels and low-lying areas where flooding may occur. People should avoid being in open spaces, under large trees, and unstable billboards.
Regarding sea conditions, waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand areas with thunderstorms will exceed 2 meters. Seafarers in these areas should check their routes and navigate carefully, avoiding sailing in areas experiencing thunderstorms.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, people are urged to plan their activities and travel cautiously during this period.
