Setthawut, Former Ban Sang District Chief, Reports for Duty in Lopburi and Addresses Social Media Use

Setthawut Wongloewut, former district chief of Ban Sang in Prachinburi province, has reported for duty as the district chief of Lamsonti in Lopburi province. He addressed concerns about his use of social media, affirming that civil service transfers are normal.

At 14:45 on 9 October 2026, Setthawut Wongloewut, former district chief of Ban Sang, Prachinburi province, traveled from the College of Local Administration to the Lopburi City Hall to meet with Veerapong Ritrod, the governor of Lopburi, and report for duty as the district chief of Lamsonti.

Upon arrival, several news agencies were waiting to cover the event. Setthawut told reporters he had visited Lopburi many times before. He then met with Prachaya Pepatang, the deputy governor of Lopburi, who gave him policy guidance on forest and resource management and presented him with a Narai Medal as a memento. Afterwards, he also met with Prayoon Siriwan, another deputy governor of Lopburi who is from the south.

Setthawut explained that his transfer to this position was part of the civil service system. The Lopburi governor assigned him policies on managing dairy farming, forests, and agriculture. He said that transferring to Lopburi province is a normal part of government service and such transfers regularly occur.

Regarding former Prachinburi governor's comments about his fondness for social media, Setthawut said using social media is normal. It provides fast news delivery and is popular with the public. He intends to continue following previous policies, as social media is an effective and favored channel for sharing news. He reiterated that transfers are routine in the civil service; it would be unusual if no transfers happened.
