The Meteorological Department issued bulletin No. 7 warning of heavy to very heavy rain in several provinces, including possible lightning, during 10-13 October 2026. Residents are advised to be cautious of flash floods and mountain runoff.
At 05:00 on 10 October 2026 GMT+7 The Meteorological Department announces Heavy to very heavy rain across Thailand, bulletin No. 7 (effective until 13 October 2026 GMT+7).
From 10 to 13 October 2026, Thailand will experience unstable weather with thunderstorms, strong gusts, hail, and heavy to very heavy rain in some areas, including possible lightning. The impacts will vary by region and date as follows:
This is due to a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand at the end of the rainy season, combined with easterly and southeasterly winds bringing moisture from the South China Sea over the northeast, east, and Gulf of Thailand. The southwest monsoon continues to cover the Andaman Sea, while the monsoon trough passes through the south.
Residents are advised to beware of dangers from thunderstorms, strong gusts, heavy to very heavy rain, and accumulated rainfall, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff—especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying plains prone to flooding. Avoid open areas, large trees, and unstable billboards.
In the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand where thunderstorms occur, waves will be over 2 meters high. Fishermen and vessels in these areas should check routes carefully, navigate cautiously, and avoid sailing in stormy conditions.
For safety and to reduce potential impacts, people should carefully plan their activities and travel during this period. The public is urged to follow announcements from the Meteorological Department and monitor updates on their website.http://www.tmd.go.thor call 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours.
