Update on Phetchaburi Flooding: Phetkasem Road Southbound and Northbound to Bangkok Now Clear, Traffic Returns to Normal

Flood update from Phetchaburi at 08:00 this morning: 'Phetkasem Road' in Khao Yoi District, both southbound and northbound to Bangkok lanes, is now open for normal traffic. In the municipal area, checks at 12 roads show no standing water.

On 12 October 2026, following continuous rain in Phetchaburi Province on 11 October, many areas were affected. In Nong Chumphon Subdistrict, Khao Yoi District, water overflowed into low-lying areas, community roads, and surrounding homes, making travel difficult on some routes.

Particularly, the surface of the parallel lanes on Phetkasem Road at kilometer 134 northbound towards Bangkok, opposite Yothinburana School, Phetchaburi, experienced prolonged flooding. This caused vehicles to slow and traffic congestion. The underpass U-turns on Phetkasem Road were flooded over 170 cm high, forcing authorities to place warning signs banning passage and direct traffic to detours.

This morning (12 October), water levels in many areas have receded. The Facebook page "Kleem Pa Teaw Phetchaburi" posted an update at 07:57 stating " Live report: Phetkasem Road southbound and northbound in Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi Province, water has receded."
