Thieves Steal Crane Battery in Broad Daylight at Secondhand Car Lot Owned by MP Beer of Bhumjaithai Party

A bold thief broke into the secondhand car lot owned by MP Beer, representative of Ayutthaya District 1 for the Bhumjaithai Party, stealing a crane battery in broad daylight. MP Beer was busy distributing flood relief bags and assigned a clerk to report the theft to investigators at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station.

On 13 Oct 2026, reporters learned that a daring thief on a motorcycle entered the secondhand truck lot owned by MP Beer, or Mr. Songpol Suksomboon, representative for Ayutthaya District 1, Bhumjaithai Party. The lot is located in Village 1, Ban Pom Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District. The suspect acted without fear of the law during broad daylight, lifting the crane battery onto the motorcycle and fleeing quickly.

Reviewing security footage (with inaccurate time), the thief rode an unknown make and unregistered motorcycle into the lot, which stores trucks, pickups, vans, and auto parts. The suspect lifted an old, large crane battery placed in the scrap storage area. The camera later showed the thief setting the battery on the motorcycle’s footrest before escaping. The entire act took less than one minute, demonstrating the thief’s speed and disregard for being seen.

Ms. Weenus Tungkasthan, 36, the lot clerk, said the incident happened around 14:50. She saw the suspect enter on a motorcycle and initially thought he was visiting a worker since many people come and go regularly. She did not suspect anything until the thief quickly loaded the battery onto the motorcycle and sped away.

Although she witnessed the event, she did not dare to intervene or call out, as she was alone and feared harm. Instead, she reviewed the CCTV footage to collect evidence.

The stolen battery was an old crane battery weighing about 30 kilograms. Although secondhand, its value is approximately 1,000 to 1,500 baht each. The lot has been targeted by battery thieves multiple times before.

At the time of the theft, MP Beer was not at the lot because he was assisting flood victims by distributing relief bags. Upon learning of the theft, he assigned the clerk to report the incident to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya police to investigate the CCTV evidence and track down the culprit for prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Facebook page 'Phuyai Beer Phitakcheep' posted pictures with a message saying, "Does anyone recognize this person or feel familiar? Please message me. Someone stole a battery from the car lot."
