Heavy Rain Hits Si Racha for Over 2 Hours, High Tides Cause Severe Flooding at Ko Loi and Nine-Kilometer Road

Heavy rain struck Si Racha district, Chonburi province, for over two hours, worsened by "high tides" resulting in severe flooding in front of Ko Loi and along Nine-Kilometer Road, affecting the travel of local residents.

At 18:00 on 14 Oct 2026 GMT+7, reporters surveyed the damage after continuous heavy rain for more than two hours caused significant flooding on the roads in front of Ko Loi, Sri Racha Subdistrict, and Surasak Subdistrict, as well as along Nine-Kilometer Road in Si Racha district, Chonburi province. Water remained pooled on the road surface, awaiting drainage.

This crisis was worsened by high tides, causing water to accumulate quickly and drainage to slow, heavily impacting residents' travel. Motorcyclists, in particular, faced difficulties riding through the water and risked accidents or engine stalls mid-route.

Officials from Si Racha Municipality deployed teams to facilitate traffic, directing vehicles and warning drivers to avoid urgently flooded areas. They also advised motorists to exercise extra caution, reduce speed, avoid these routes if possible, and closely monitor the situation.
