At 17:00 on 17 October 2026 GMT+7.Meteorological Department.Second announcement regarding heavy to very heavy rainfall across Thailand (effective from 18 to 25 October 2026).
From 18 to 20 October 2026, the Southern and Eastern regions will experience continuous and heavy to very heavy rain in some areas. Subsequently, from 21 to 25 October 2026, increased rainfall with heavy to very heavy rain and some strong gusty winds will occur in the lower Northeastern region, Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, the Eastern region, and the upper Southern region.
Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from strong gusty winds, heavy to very heavy rainfall, and continuous accumulation of rain, which may lead to flash floods, forest runoff, and landslides, especially near hillsides close to waterways and low-lying areas. It is recommended to avoid traveling through frequently flooded routes, particularly low-lying areas where short-term flooding may occur.
This situation is due to a monsoon trough passing over the lower Southern region combined with the southwest monsoon covering the lower Andaman Sea. Afterwards, the monsoon trough will move northward over the central Southern region, while a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China will extend over the upper Northern, upper Northeastern regions, and the South China Sea.
Waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand in areas with thunderstorms will exceed three meters in height. Mariners in these seas should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas experiencing thunderstorms.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan daily activities and travel carefully during this period. Continuous monitoring of announcements from the Meteorological Department is recommended, with updates available on their website.http://www.tmd.go.thOr by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours a day.
