Fire at Car Repair Shop in Bang Phli Area Contained At Least 20 Vehicles Damaged

An incident occurred "Fire at a car repair shop" in the Bang Phli area. Officials have now controlled the blaze after about one hour, finding at least 20 vehicles damaged.

At 9:00 PM on 18 October 2026, Police Lieutenant Patinya Naokaew, deputy investigator at Bang Kaeo Police Station, received a report of a fire at SW Master Paint Co., a car paint repair shop located along the outbound Bang Na-Trat Road at kilometer marker 11, Bang Phli Yai Subdistrict, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province. He dispatched fire trucks along with over 10 vehicles from the Bang Phli Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Ruamkatanyu Foundation, and nearby units, accompanied by officials and volunteers from Ruamkatanyu Foundation to inspect the scene.

Upon inspection, the scene was a large single-story car repair shop covering over one rai. Inside, many cars of various brands were parked waiting for repair. Flames were seen burning inside the paint repair section before quickly spreading to cars parked inside, accompanied by intermittent explosions. Firefighters sprayed water and foam agents to extinguish the fire. It took about one hour to fully control and extinguish the blaze.

Initial findings showed at least 20 cars were damaged, mostly private passenger vehicles of various brands brought in by customers for insurance claims and repair at the shop.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire started while the shop was closed with no staff inside. A passing local resident noticed the flames and promptly alerted authorities. Early reports indicate the fire began inside the right side of the shop, but no witnesses have confirmed whether it started from any specific vehicle or material.

Police Lieutenant Patinya Naokaew inspected the scene, documented evidence, and interviewed surrounding witnesses. The area was temporarily sealed off to coordinate with forensic officers for further investigation to determine the true cause of the fire.
