The Meteorological Department issued Warning No. 6 "Heavy to very heavy rain" effective until 25 October 2026. Check the list of provinces affected where flash floods and flash floods in mountainous areas may occur.
At 17:00 on 19 October 2026The Meteorological Department's websiteannounced "Heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand" (effective until 25 October 2026) Warning No. 6 (265/2569) states that from 19-20 October 2026, the southern and eastern regions will experience continuous rain and heavy to very heavy rain in some areas.
From 21-25 October 2026, the lower northeastern region, central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, eastern region, and upper southern region will see increased rain with heavy to very heavy rain in some places and strong gusts in some areas.
Residents in these areas should beware of dangers from strong gusts, heavy to very heavy rain, and continuous accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods, flash floods in mountainous areas, and landslides, especially on slopes near waterways and lowlands. Avoid traveling on frequently flooded routes, especially low-lying areas prone to waterlogging.
This is due to a monsoon trough passing over central southern Thailand combined with the southwest monsoon covering the lower Andaman Sea, while a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China spreads over the upper northern, upper northeastern regions and the South China Sea, resulting in easterly winds over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.
Waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand in areas with thunderstorms will be over 3 meters high. Mariners in these areas should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel carefully during this period, follow continuous updates from the Meteorological Department, and can get information 24/7 via the department's website http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182.
