Phang Nga Monitors 6 Districts for Heavy Rain Warns Residents to Watch for Increased Landslides

Monitoring six districts in Phang Nga Province to prepare for "heavy rain" warning residents to beware of flash floods and to increase caution for additional landslides.

On 19 Oct 2026 GMT+7, reporters confirmed that the Western Coast Southern Meteorological Center detected rain clusters in Phang Nga Province and urged residents in all six districts—Takua Pa, Kuraburi, Kapong, Takua Thung, Thai Mueang, and Mueang Phang Nga—to monitor the heavy rain situation closely. They were advised to follow weather updates and official alerts attentively, especially in areas vulnerable to flash floods, sudden water surges, and landslides on hillsides and near waterways.

At the same time, residents living in risk areas were advised to prepare for the situation. If heavy rain continues, caution is needed when traveling on routes prone to landslides, and avoiding proximity to canals or areas with strong water currents is recommended.

Residents were also urged to continuously follow warnings from government agencies and immediately report any unusual conditions to local authorities for prompt inspection and assistance.

Additionally, a warning was issued for those traveling near Khao Tha Krai on Highway 4090, Village No. 7, Lam Phi Subdistrict, Thai Mueang District, Phang Nga Province—especially around the 23+800 kilometer marker—to exercise extra caution during heavy rain. Soil saturated with water on the mountain may slide down again, covering the road surface.

Meanwhile, officials from the Phuket Highway District, Thai Mueang Highway Section, and Phang Nga Highway Section have deployed heavy machinery to remove soil and rocks that slid onto the road, working to reopen traffic and ensure safe passage for the public.

However, drivers are advised to increase caution, reduce speed, and observe surrounding conditions. If heavy rain or signs of mountain soil movement occur, they should avoid stopping in risky areas and strictly follow officials' instructions to ensure travel safety.
