Meteorological Department Issues 7th Warning Listing Provinces with Heavy to Very Heavy Rain Through 25 Oct 2026

The Meteorological Department issued its 7th announcement warning of heavy to very heavy rain in several areas, advising vigilance for flash floods and mountain torrents, effective until 25 Oct 2026 GMT+7.

On 20 October 2026 GMT+7, the Meteorological Department released its 7th bulletin regarding heavy to very heavy rain across Thailand, effective until 25 October 2026 GMT+7.

On 20 October 2026 GMT+7, continuous heavy to very heavy rain is expected in some parts of southern and eastern Thailand. From 21 to 25 October 2026 GMT+7, increased rainfall with heavy to very heavy showers and gusty winds is forecast for lower northeastern, central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, eastern, and upper southern areas.

Residents in these regions are urged to be cautious of hazards from strong gusty winds, heavy to very heavy rainfall, and ongoing accumulation which may cause flash floods, mountain torrents, and landslides, especially near foothills by waterways and low-lying areas. Avoid traveling through frequently flooded routes, particularly lowlands prone to waterlogging.

This weather pattern is due to a monsoon trough passing through central southern Thailand, combined with the southwest monsoon blowing over the lower Andaman Sea. Meanwhile, a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China covers upper northern, upper northeastern Thailand, and the South China Sea, resulting in easterly winds over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.

Waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand in areas experiencing thunderstorms will exceed 3 meters. Mariners in these waters should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in thunderstorm zones.

For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel carefully during this period, follow ongoing announcements from the Meteorological Department, and monitor updates on their website.http://www.tmd.go.thor contact 0-2399-4012-13 and the 24-hour hotline 1182.
