A woman was attacked by her husband's ex-girlfriend, who had separated from him over six years ago, after the ex drove aggressively to cut her off on the road, then grabbed and assaulted her, causing her motorcycle to fall. The accompanying child cried loudly. Netizens expressed concern, and police explained it as a dispute.
On 21 Oct 2026 GMT+7, a reporter noted that a Facebook user posted a clip showing an SUV driving alongside a motorcycle. A woman then got out of the SUV and attacked the motorcycle rider without regard for the child with her, who screamed in fear as the motorcycle tipped and fell on the road. The incident was captured on video by a bystander.
The poster requested help from local authorities and officials in Sukhothai province, stating that the woman assaulted is their sister-in-law, attacked by her husband's ex-girlfriend from whom he separated over six years ago. This was reportedly the fifth such incident, occurring while the woman was riding with her two children.
The poster expressed deep sympathy for the grandchildren, noting that every time a vehicle cuts them off or drives alongside aggressively, the grandson experiences severe panic attacks. This time, sensing they were being followed, he began recording video. The young granddaughter has had to endure such repeated traumatic events.
The family has filed police reports three times, but the case has not progressed. Meanwhile, the perpetrator claims to have police backing, showing no fear of the law.
They questioned whether anyone can recklessly cut others off, ambush, or cause a family to live in constant fear. They emphasized that this is not just a matter between two adults but also involves children facing fear and psychological harm.
The poster added that for now, they have taken the grandchildren in temporarily for safety. Watching the video makes their heart race, and they feel they have no one to turn to. They appealed to local authorities in Sukhothai, especially in Sri Samrong district, police commanders, and related agencies to investigate, follow up on the case, and ensure the safety of the sister-in-law and children. They urged serious attention before worse incidents occur, seeking only a safe life free from fear of harm for this family.
Additionally, the Facebook owner shared a previous incident where the sister-in-law was assaulted by the same person, who had recorded the attack and sent the video, instructing the sister-in-law to show it to her children.
Later, the Sri Samrong Police Station in Sukhothai province issued a statement regarding the incident. They reported that a white car cut in front of a motorcycle ridden by a woman with children as passengers, leading to a physical altercation on Chorod Withi Thong Road, Village 6, Khlong Tan Subdistrict, Sri Samrong District.
The Sri Samrong Police clarified that the incident occurred on 17 Oct 2026 GMT+7. Investigators received complaints and interviewed the victim on the same day. The victim underwent a medical examination at Si Sangwon Hospital, Sukhothai. They are currently awaiting medical reports to support the investigation.
Preliminary investigation revealed that both parties have had previous disputes and arguments before the incident shown in the viral video. Investigators are gathering evidence and thoroughly verifying facts. The responsible officers have been instructed to collect complete and impartial evidence to ensure fairness for all parties and proceed according to legal protocols.
After the police statement, many netizens questioned why the term "dispute" was used, suggesting it implies mutual consent to fight rather than acknowledging the woman on the motorcycle as a victim of assault. Relatives of the victim also raised concerns. A relative said, “Looking at my grandchild, I just feel sorry for the little dark-eyed child having to suffer such emotional pain. How can this be called a dispute by the authorities when my sister-in-law was only defending herself and her children? At no point did she willingly engage in a fight; she was caught off guard.”
Meanwhile, the Facebook page "Sao Pao – This Matter Must Be Taken Seriously" posted that the woman in the viral clip who got out of the car to assault the mother and children used to work temporarily as an administrative assistant at a hospital but resigned long ago. She is not a doctor or nurse.
However, the perpetrator has not yet publicly responded. Updates will be provided as the situation develops.
