On 20 Oct 2023 GMT+7 at Sai Mai District Office, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said during a field visit monitoring flood relief claim processing that Bangkok has extended the submission deadline for flood relief claims to 30 Nov 2026 GMT+7, so citizens need not rush. Sai Mai District has adjusted its system to accommodate 1,800 people daily, with 1,500 by appointment and 300 walk-ins, and extended service hours until 6:00 pm. Sai Mai has received 86,000 claims, with 53,000 approved. Those who applied on 2 or 3 Oct but remain unapproved can check status via LINE OA, as some may have submitted incorrect information requiring correction. He urged the public to provide truthful information.
The Governor added that regarding queue management, people can take a queue ticket in the morning, go to work, and return in the evening to receive service without losing their place, so arriving as early as 5:00 am is unnecessary. He strongly warned against reselling queue cards. Official residences are not eligible for relief under the criteria. In Sai Mai, among 4,000 Air Force housing units, over 500 applicants were ineligible; the district office has sorted and explained this to them. Anyone who received money without qualifying must return it. Overall, Bangkok has received about 1 million claims, with nearly 400,000 approved. Additionally, over 25,000 tons of debris from the floods have been collected.
