The Meteorological Department's Issue 11 warns that the eastern and southern regions will experience heavy to very heavy rain in some areas and advises checking areas at risk of flash floods and flash floods until 25 Oct 2026.
On 22 October 2026, the Meteorological Department issued Bulletin No. 11 concerning heavy to very heavy rain over Thailand, effective until 25 October 2026.
It states that from 22 to 25 October 2026, the eastern and southern regions will have continuous rain with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain. Meanwhile, the lower northern, lower northeastern, central regions, and the Bangkok metropolitan area will have thunderstorms with occasional strong gusty winds.
Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from strong gusty winds, heavy to very heavy rain, and continuous accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and flash floods in foothill and low-lying areas.
This is due to a monsoon trough passing through central southern Thailand combined with the southwest monsoon covering the lower Andaman Sea, while a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China extends over the upper northern, upper northeastern regions, and South China Sea, resulting in easterly winds over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.
Regarding waves and winds in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand where thunderstorms occur, waves will exceed 3 meters in height. Boaters in these areas should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas experiencing thunderstorms.
