Meteorological Department Issues 4th Notice Warning of Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in the South and Unstable Weather in Upper Thailand

The Meteorological Department's 4th notice warns that the southern region will still experience heavy to very heavy rain, while upper Thailand must prepare for unstable weather including thunderstorms, strong gusts, and lightning. Check the list of affected provinces from 25-28 October 2026.

On 25 October 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued Announcement No. 4 regarding heavy to very heavy rain in the southern region and unstable weather in upper Thailand.

It stated that from 25–28 October 2026, the southern region will have continuous rainfall with heavy rain in many areas and very heavy rain in some locations. The public is advised to be cautious of accumulated rain that may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying areas prone to waterlogging.

Meanwhile, from 25–27 October 2026, upper Thailand will experience unstable weather characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, heavy rain, and possible lightning in some places. The northeastern region will be affected first, followed by the north, central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the eastern region. The public should beware of dangers from thunderstorms and strong gusts and avoid staying in open areas, under large trees, or near unstable billboards.

This is due to a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand and the South China Sea, bringing easterly winds carrying moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand over upper Thailand. Meanwhile, the monsoon trough passing through the south will strengthen.

Regarding sea conditions, waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand in areas experiencing thunderstorms will be over 2 meters high. Mariners in these waters should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in stormy conditions.

For safety and to minimize possible impacts, the public is advised to plan daily activities and travel carefully during this period. They should continuously follow announcements from the Meteorological Department via its website.http://www.tmd.go.thor call 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours.
