Tourists Flock to Experience the Cold at Doi Inthanon Summit, Temperature Drops to 10°C This Morning

Doi Inthanon is lively as the summit temperature drops to a low of 10 degrees Celsius. Tourists flock to experience the cold weather and capture photos of dew on the grass tips. It is anticipated that visitor numbers will surge to tens of thousands per day during the year-end period.

On 25 Oct 2026, reporters reported that at 07:00 AM this morning, the atmosphere at Doi Inthanon summit and Kew Mae Pan was clear with very good air quality. The lowest temperatures recorded were 10 degrees Celsius at the summit, 13 degrees Celsius at Kew Mae Pan, and 17 degrees Celsius at the park headquarters.

Driving on the mountain still requires caution; drivers are advised to use low gear when ascending. Caution is also urged at the Kew Mae Pan viewpoint as many tourists cross the road frequently, some even taking photos in the middle of the road to showcase the cold. At the park ranger station on the summit, tourists are densely gathered to experience the natural cold air and view dew-covered trees.

Visitor numbers on holidays increase significantly compared to normal days. On 24 Oct 2026, over 800 foreign tourists visited, with a total of 4,529 visitors including Thais. It is expected that by the year-end, daily visitors will exceed tens of thousands.
