Thong Pha Phum National Park Closes Road No. กจ.4088 Ban Rai-Ban E-Tong After Many Wild Elephants Spotted Foraging

Thong Pha Phum National Park announced the closure of Road No. กจ.4088 on the Ban Rai-Ban E-Tong route after many wild elephants were seen foraging, warning the public to avoid the route between 18:00 and 06:00.

On 25 Oct 2016, Mr. Yutthapong Damsrisuk, head of Thong Pha Phum National Park in Kanchanaburi Province, revealed that the park has publicized the closure of Road No. กจ.4088, covering the 399 curves route from Ban Rai to Ban E-Tong in Pilok Subdistrict, Thong Pha Phum District, from kilometer 3 to kilometer 15.

They also requested cooperation to avoid using the route from 18:00 to 06:00 because many wild elephants have been foraging and walking along the road, which could pose dangers to both travelers and the elephants.

Therefore, for the safety of residents, tourists, and to prevent harm to the wild elephants, the public is urged to refrain from traveling this route during the announced times and to strictly follow officials' guidance.

As a precaution, if wild elephants are encountered, do not approach, make noise, chase, or do anything that might startle them. Tourists planning to visit Ban E-Tong are asked to plan their trips in advance and prioritize safety.

The park apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks everyone for their cooperation to ensure the safety of residents, tourists, and to promote peaceful coexistence between people and wild elephants.

Meanwhile, the Facebook page "Thong Pha Phum National Park" has also posted announcements regarding the road closure on this route.
