On 27 October 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued Announcement No. 8 regarding heavy to very heavy rain in the southern region and unstable weather in Upper Thailand. It stated that during 27–28 October 2026, continuous rain with heavy downpours in many areas and very heavy rain in some places will occur in the South. The public is urged to beware of dangers from accumulated rain that may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying regions, which may experience flooding.

Meanwhile, on 27 October 2026, Upper Thailand will see decreasing rain but still unstable weather characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and heavy rain in some places. The public is advised to be cautious of thunderstorms and strong gusts and to avoid staying in open areas, under large trees, and near unstable billboards.

This is due to a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China spreading over Upper Thailand and the South China Sea, bringing easterly winds that carry moisture from the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand over Upper Thailand. At the same time, the monsoon trough crossing the South will strengthen.

Regarding sea conditions, waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand in areas with thunderstorms will exceed 2 meters. Mariners in these seas should navigate carefully and avoid sailing in areas experiencing thunderstorms.

For safety and to minimize possible impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel cautiously during this period.
