Warning Issued for High Tides from 28-30 Oct: Risk Areas Outside Flood Barriers Along Major Rivers and Key Roads

Warning issued for 28-30 October 2026 to monitor closely. High tide. Risk areas include communities outside flood barriers along the Bang Pakong, Chao Phraya, Tha Chin, and Mae Klong rivers, as well as Sukhumvit, Suksawat, and Rama II roads.

On 28 October 2026, reports indicated that the Facebook pageOffice of the National Water Resourcesposted an alert to monitor high tides from 28 to 30 October 2026, noting that a high-pressure system from China has covered northern Thailand and the South China Sea, causing easterly winds to blow across northern Thailand with strong waves and winds.

This has resulted in rising sea levels, with increased water levels at river mouths connected to the sea. Flooding may occur along the banks of the Bang Pakong, Chao Phraya, Tha Chin, and Mae Klong rivers between 28 and 30 October 2026, including communities outside flood barriers, areas without permanent water defenses, and along main routes such as Sukhumvit, Suksawat, and Rama II roads.

Relevant agencies are therefore urged to monitor high tides in the provinces of Chachoengsao, Samut Prakan, Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, and Samut Songkhram.
