The Meteorological Department issued Bulletin No. 2 warning of unstable weather in upper Thailand and heavy to very heavy rain in the southern region; check affected areas from 5-9 Nov 2026.
On 2 November 2026, it was reported thatthe Meteorological Departmentissued Bulletin No. 2 regarding unstable weather in upper Thailand and heavy to very heavy rain in the southern region (effective during 5-9 November 2026).
From 5-7 November 2026, upper Thailand will experience unstable weather characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, and localized heavy rain. The northeast will be affected first, followed by the north, central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the east. The public is advised to beware of dangers from thunderstorms and strong winds and to avoid being in open areas, under large trees, or unstable billboards.
From 7-9 November 2026, the southern region will see increased rainfall with heavy rain in many areas and very heavy rain in some places. People should be cautious of accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and landslides, especially in foothill areas near waterways and lowlands.
This is due to a high-pressure system or another cold air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand and the South China Sea, causing strong easterly winds over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.
Waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand in areas with thunderstorms will exceed 2 meters in height. Mariners in these waters should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel carefully during this period, continuously follow updates from the Meteorological Department, and can access information on their website.http://www.tmd.go.thor call 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours.
