At 17:00 on 4 November 2026Meteorological DepartmentAnnouncement regarding "Unstable weather in upper Thailand and heavy to very heavy rain in the southern region" Effective during 5-9 November 2026, Announcement No. 7 states that from 5–7 November 2026, upper Thailand will experience unstable weather characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain in some areas.
The northeastern region will be affected first, followed by northern, central regions including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the eastern region. The public is advised to beware of dangers from thunderstorms and strong winds and to avoid staying in open spaces, under large trees, and near unstable billboards.
From 7–9 November 2026, the southern region will see increased rainfall with heavy rain in many areas and very heavy rain in some. People should be cautious of accumulated rainfall which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff, especially in hillside areas near waterways and lowlands.
This is due to a high-pressure system or another cold air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand and the South China Sea, causing strong easterly winds over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.
Waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand in areas with thunderstorms will exceed 2 meters in height. Fishermen in these areas should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in thunderstorm conditions.
For safety and to minimize impact, the public should carefully plan their activities and travel during this period. Continuous updates are available on the Meteorological Department's website http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and hotline 1182, 24 hours a day.
