Panic as Grade 7 Student Threatens Mass Shooting in LINE Group School Closed and Parents Rush to Pick Up Children

A Grade 7 student threatened a mass shooting in a LINE group, prompting the school principal to immediately close the school and coordinate with parents to pick up their children. The district chief and police maintained a strong security presence to ensure safety.

At 08:00 on 5 November 2026, reporters learned of chaos at a school in Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Teachers urgently asked parents to pick up their children after an unusual event: someone posted a mass shooting threat in a LINE group. The principal promptly closed the school and contacted parents to come collect their children immediately.

Later, Anusak Piriyaomorn, Bang Lamung District Chief, Krissana Boonsawat, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, and Pol. Col. Sarawut Nuchnart, Chief of Bang Lamung Police Station, arrived to observe and verify the situation. Police secured the school perimeter and assisted parents picking up their children. After nearly two hours, about 1,000 students were safely dismissed.

The incident originated from a mysterious person recently added to the Grade 7 students’ LINE group, who posted at 19:20 on the previous night: “There will be a shooting tomorrow.” The message was soon deleted, but teachers had copied it before deletion and feared a safety threat. The principal ordered an immediate school closure and instructed parents to retrieve their children.

A Grade 7 student, given the pseudonym “Bee,” explained that he mistakenly added the wrong person to the LINE group. That individual immediately posted the threatening message. This morning, the individual sent an apology message and is reportedly a friend from the same grade.

Krissana Boonsawat, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya responsible for education, revealed that the person who posted the message is a 16-year-old Grade 7 student at the school, absent for three days due to a family bereavement. The student has a history of misconduct and repeating grades. The reason behind the threatening post is still under investigation.

Anusak Piriyaomorn, Bang Lamung District Chief, said he and Bang Lamung police are searching for the student who made the post. It is unclear if the act was a prank or a threat motivated by dissatisfaction at school. Police have identified the suspect and are pursuing an interview prior to legal proceedings. Fortunately, no violent incident occurred at the school.

Reporters spoke with a parent who came to pick up their child. They said teachers contacted them to collect their child and that they were somewhat aware of the situation. The parent was not frightened but urged authorities to thoroughly investigate the facts to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Additionally, the school announced a two-day suspension of classes on 5-6 November 2026 to verify the facts of the case.
