Grade 7 Student Admits Fabricating Mass Shooting Threat in Line Group No Mysterious Person Involved, Likely Act of Recklessness

A Grade 7 student admitted to fabricating the mass shooting threat in the Line group by himself, with no other individuals involved. The motive is suspected to be recklessness. Authorities are arranging a meeting with the guardians for joint professional questioning before considering legal measures.

The incident occurred at a school in Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, after a threatening message was sent in a Grade 7 Line group stating, “There will be a mass shooting tomorrow” at 19:20 on 4 November. The sender later deleted the message, causing concern among teachers and school administrators about safety, leading to a two-day school closure on 5–6 November. Guardians were contacted urgently to pick up approximately 1,000 students, as previously reported.Read more: Panic as Grade 7 Student Threatens Mass Shooting in Line Group; Principal Orders School Closure, Guardians Rush to Collect Children)

Most recently, at 13:30 on 5 November 2026, reporters were informed by Pol. Col. Sarawut Nuchnarat, Superintendent of Bang Lamung Police Station, that after investigators swiftly examined the facts, the Grade 7/2 homeroom teacher from the affected class was summoned to give a statement. The student known as 'Boy B' (pseudonym), who had previously claimed a mysterious person was added to the Line group, was also brought in for further questioning at Bang Lamung Police Station.

Officials from the Chonburi Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office (Chonburi SDHSO) participated in the inquiry to ensure the process was appropriate, given the individuals involved are minors.

Initial questioning revealed that Boy B admitted to sending the threatening message himself, without any other persons involved. This contradicted earlier reports about a mysterious individual being added to the Line group before sending the threatening message that caused panic among the school and guardians.

Pol. Col. Sarawut added that he assigned Lt. Ratchaphol Saneewong Na Ayutthaya, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Bang Lamung Police Station, to record the homeroom teacher’s statement as evidence. Boy B was allowed to return home for the time being, with plans to summon him again accompanied by his guardians for further questioning before a multidisciplinary team.

Afterward, investigators will collect evidence and assess whether the actions constitute any legal offenses before proceeding under the laws applicable to children and youth.

Regarding the motive, authorities initially suspect it was due to the student's recklessness but will continue to investigate details and incentives to clarify the facts.

This incident caused the school to declare an emergency closure for two days.
