A young woman fleeing for her life cycled into a Thai BBQ restaurant after being chased aggressively by two dogs. Customers were both confused and amused. The restaurant owner is searching for her to offer a free meal as consolation for the ordeal she endured during the chase.
On 5 Nov 2026, reports emerged from Mahanat Thai BBQ restaurant located at 30 Soi 1, Phat Chang Phueak Road, Mueang Chiang Mai district, which released CCTV footage showing a teenage girl cycling away from two dogs chasing her from mid-alley, about 200 meters from the restaurant, until she reached the curved road in front of the establishment.
The young woman cycled at high speed and suddenly rushed into the restaurant, shouting for help. This alarmed customers, staff, and officials inside, who initially feared she was fleeing from an attacker. But when they saw the pursuers were dogs, they exclaimed in surprise and laughter.
After this incident, the restaurant staff chased away the two dogs that had been pursuing the young woman and comforted her until she was calm enough to safely cycle back home.
Later, the restaurant posted the video online hoping to find the young woman, as they wished to offer her a free Thai BBQ meal to console her. Viewers who saw the post and video commented enthusiastically and expressed hope that the restaurant would locate her.
Mr. Siriphop Meeluekanukul, 33, the manager of the Thai BBQ restaurant featured in the video, explained that the incident occurred at about 19:55 on 3 Nov. At that time, the restaurant was operating as usual with customers dining inside, when staff, officials, and patrons heard a loud call for help from outside. A teenage girl rushed into the restaurant on her bicycle at high speed, causing alarm because everyone thought she was fleeing from someone chasing her.
Staff and officials quickly went outside to investigate and found that the pursuers were two dogs that had chased the girl from the middle of the alley to the restaurant's front before running off. Upon reviewing the footage, the restaurant felt a mix of sympathy and amusement at the situation. They have been trying to locate the girl with the intention of inviting her back for a free meal as consolation, but so far have not found her. Therefore, they posted the video on social media hoping she would see it and contact the restaurant.
