5 November 2026 GMT+7Meteorological DepartmentAnnouncement regarding Unstable weather in upper Thailand and heavy to very heavy rain in the southern region. (Effective from 5 to 9 November 2026) Warning No. 9 states that from 5–7 November 2026, upper Thailand will have unstable weather characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain in some areas, initially affecting the northeast region.
The north, central regions including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the east will be affected subsequently. People are advised to beware of dangers from thunderstorms and strong gusty winds and to avoid staying in open areas, under large trees, and unstable billboards.
From 7–9 November 2026, the southern region will experience increased rainfall with heavy rain in many areas and very heavy rain in some places. Residents should be cautious of accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and mountain runoff flooding, especially in foothill areas near waterways and lowlands.
This is due to a high-pressure area or another cold air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand and the South China Sea, causing strengthening easterly winds over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.
Waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand in areas with thunderstorms will exceed 2 meters. Fishermen in these areas should navigate carefully and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel carefully during this period and to continuously follow updates from the Meteorological Department.
