The Meteorological Department issued bulletin no. 10 warning that from 6-9 November, upper Thailand will experience unstable weather with heavy rain in some areas, while the southern region will see increased rainfall. Authorities advise residents in risk areas to beware of flooding due to rising water levels.
On 6 Nov 2026, the Meteorological Department issued bulletin no. 10 regarding unstable weather in upper Thailand and heavy to very heavy rainfall in the southern region, effective from 6-9 November 2026. From 6–7 November 2026, upper Thailand will continue to have unstable weather characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, hail, and heavy rain in some locations. The public is advised to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and strong winds, and to avoid staying in open spaces, under large trees, or near unstable advertising boards.
From 7–9 November 2026, the southern region will experience increased rainfall with heavy rain in many areas and very heavy rain in some places. Residents are warned to be cautious of accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying zones.
This is due to a high-pressure area or another cold air mass spreading from China covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea, causing easterly winds over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand to strengthen.
Waves and winds in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand in areas with thunderstorms will have wave heights exceeding 2 meters. Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea should check their routes and navigate with caution, and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel carefully during this period. They should continuously follow updates from the Meteorological Department via its website at https://www.tmd.go.th or phone numbers 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours.
