Meteorological Department Issue 11 Warns of Unstable Weather in Upper Thailand Increased Rain in the South

The Meteorological Department issued bulletin 11 warning that upper Thailand will continue to experience unstable weather with thunderstorms, strong gusts, and hail. Meanwhile, the south will see increased rainfall with heavy showers in many areas.

At 5:00 p.m. on 6 Nov 2026, the Meteorological Department issued bulletin number 11 concerning unstable weather in upper Thailand and heavy to very heavy rainfall in the south (effective 6-9 Nov 2026).

From 6–7 Nov 2026, upper Thailand will remain under unstable weather conditions characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusts, hail, and localized heavy rain. The public is urged to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and strong winds, and to avoid staying in open spaces, under large trees, and near unstable billboards.

From 7–9 Nov 2026, the south will experience increased rainfall with heavy rain in many areas and very heavy rain in some locations. People should be alert to dangers from accumulated rain that may cause flash floods and landslides, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying regions.

This situation is due to a high-pressure area or a new cold air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand and the South China Sea, resulting in stronger easterly winds covering Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.

Sea waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand in areas with thunderstorms will exceed 2 meters in height. Mariners in these areas should check their routes and navigate with caution, avoiding sailing in regions with thunderstorms.

For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel carefully during this period and to continuously follow announcements from the Meteorological Department.
