A fire broke out at Bang Lamung Police Station in Chonburi province, burning the investigators' office and causing severe damage to case files. The cause is being urgently investigated.
At 17:30 on 6 November 2026, the Pattaya Land Disaster Prevention Center (Pattaya Fire Department, Na Kluea district) received a report of a fire inside Bang Lamung Police Station in Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi province. Upon notification, they dispatched three fire trucks along with rescue units from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation of Pattaya.
Upon arrival, the four-story police station was emitting heavy smoke from the second floor, at the leftmost room of the building. Firefighters sprayed water to contain the flames and were able to control the fire within about 20 minutes.
Preliminary findings show the room was the investigators' (case officers') office, which was almost completely destroyed by the fire. The case files inside suffered extensive damage. This office is located on the same floor as the station chief's office.
A police officer at the scene reported that before the fire was controlled, an investigator ran to alert them to call the fire department due to a fire on the second floor. The officer rushed upstairs and used a fire extinguisher to initially suppress the flames, which were mainly smoke at that time. The fire trucks then arrived and took control until the fire was fully contained.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but initial suspicion points to an electrical short circuit. However, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause.
