Pickup Truck Crashes into Tree in Rain, Principal of Phichai Dabhak 1 School in Uttaradit Dies

Tragically, the principal of Phichai Dabhak 1 School lost control of his pickup truck while driving in heavy rain. The vehicle skidded and crashed violently into a roadside tree, killing him instantly near the curve at Ban Pha Tao, Tha Pla District, Uttaradit Province.

On 7 November 2026 at 9:00 p.m., police from Tha Pla Station, Uttaradit Province, received a report of a pickup truck losing control and crashing into a tree with a fatality trapped inside the vehicle. The incident occurred at the curve near Ban Pha Tao, Village No. 5, Pha Luat Subdistrict, Tha Pla District. Upon notification, they coordinated with the on-call doctor at Tha Pla Hospital and rescue workers from Ruamjit Rescue to promptly respond to the scene.

At the scene beside the road, rescuers found a bronze silver Toyota pickup truck, license plate KTH 2567 Uttaradit, severely crashed and wedged against a roadside tree, heavily damaged especially on the driver’s side where the cabin was crushed inward. Rescue workers quickly used hydraulic cutting tools to extract the occupant but found the victim suffered severe injuries and had died at the scene.

According to Mr. Chinnakrit Watthanathemin, head of Ruamjit Rescue, the deceased was later identified as Mr. Chatchadol Talotpong, principal of Phichai Dabhak 1 School. Before the accident, he had returned from Sirikit Dam Golf Course and was driving home. At the curve where the accident occurred, light rain was falling, likely causing poor visibility and slippery roads, which led the vehicle to lose control and crash violently into a roadside tree.

Investigators from Tha Pla Police Station, together with the on-duty doctor from Tha Pla Hospital, conducted a preliminary autopsy. They found the deceased sustained severe blunt force trauma from the collision, causing heavy internal organ damage that led to immediate death at the scene.

After completing the autopsy, the deceased’s wife and family did not dispute the cause of death and took custody of the body to proceed with religious funeral rites at Lao Pa Sa Temple in Mueang Uttaradit District, Uttaradit Province. The loss deeply saddened relatives, friends, and colleagues. We express our condolences to the bereaved family.
