The Meteorological Department issued Bulletin No. 15 reporting that rain is decreasing in northern Thailand, while rainfall is increasing in the South, with heavy rain in many areas. Check affected regions.
At 11:00 a.m. on 8 Nov 2026, the Meteorological Department issued Bulletin No. 15, the final bulletin for this event, regarding unstable weather in upper Thailand and heavy to very heavy rain in the South, effective from 8 to 9 November 2026.
In upper Thailand, rainfall is decreasing but thunderstorms may still occur in some areas, mainly in the western parts of the North and Central regions. The public is advised to be cautious of thunderstorm hazards.
From 8 to 9 November 2026, the South will see increased rain with heavy rainfall in several areas and very heavy rain in some locations. Residents should beware of risks from accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff, especially in hillside areas near waterways and low-lying zones.
This situation is due to a new cold air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand and the South China Sea, strengthening the easterly winds over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.
Waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand near thunderstorms are expected to exceed 2 meters. Mariners in these areas should check routes carefully and navigate with caution, avoiding travel during thunderstorms.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is urged to plan daily activities and travel carefully during this period and to continuously monitor announcements from the Meteorological Department via their website.https://www.tmd.go.thOr call 0-2399-4012-13 and hotline 1182, available 24 hours a day.
