Meteorological Department Issues Warning No. 1: Heavy Rain in the South, Cooler Temperatures in Upper Thailand Bangkok Temperature Drops 1-3°C

The Meteorological Department has issued Warning No. 1 forecasting heavy rain in the South from 9 to 13 November 2026. Meanwhile, the upper part of Thailand will experience cooler weather, with temperatures dropping 3-5 degrees Celsius in the Northeast, and 1-3 degrees Celsius in the North, Central region, Bangkok metropolitan area, and the East region.

At 17:00 on 8 November 2026 GMT+7.The Meteorological Department.Issues Warning No. 1 regarding heavy to very heavy rain in the southern region (effective from 9 to 13 November 2026).

From 9 to 13 November 2026, the southern region will continue to experience rain with heavy showers in many areas, including some with very heavy rain. The public is urged to be cautious of dangers from continuous rainfall, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying areas.

For the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, in areas experiencing thunderstorms, waves will be over 2 meters high. Fishermen in these seas should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.

Upper Thailand will experience cooler weather with strong winds. In the Northeast, temperatures will drop by 3-5 degrees Celsius, while in the North, Central region, Bangkok and its metropolitan area, and the East, temperatures will decrease by 1-3 degrees Celsius. This is due to a high-pressure system or cold air mass spreading from China covering Thailand. The public is advised to take care of their health during the cooler weather, and farmers should protect their crops from possible damage.

This is because a relatively strong high-pressure system or cold air mass from China will spread over upper Thailand and the South China Sea. This will strengthen the easterly winds blowing over Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their daily activities and travel carefully during this period.
